The end is here…it’s officially my last day at WTF. In honour of my day one assignment of creating a Spotify playlist of my favourite tunes, my last post will take on a similar feel. Here’s a brief selection of songs along with their significance to WTF and my wondrous intern experience.
I’m a Believer by the Monkees
What film??? A repeat question in the office, and hit or miss whether anyone actually knows the answer. This song, performed by Smash Mouth, is of course from Shrek, and also happens to be one that I knew the answer to before anyone else.
Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang
This classic proves that in fact, Americans do have something over the Brits: our rap and hip-hop is far better. I’ve heard this song in the office a few times, proving WTF’s collective music taste to be fairly diverse and impressive.
Luck of Lucien by A Tribe Called Quest
This banger comes with many layers, starting with hints of the Beatles’ ‘All You Need is Love’. A Tribe Called Quest is known for pioneering alternative hip-hop music, characterized by the same kind of artistic intelligence and innovation that WTF embodies.
Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard & The Shadows
This banger is played in the office probably once a day. Once embarking on my own summer holiday in just a couple weeks, I guarantee that I’ll be listening to this cheery song with everyone at WTF in mind.
Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac
This band was on my original playlist and fortunately has also been played in the office since. All I’m saying is that it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if the wonderful Stevie Nicks reminded everyone of the intern Stevie Snow every so often.
One last cheers to WTF from me! Most especially, cheers to everyone here for letting me experience your vibrant and witty WTF world.
